About CCMA
The Medical Assistant Program is designed to provide the students with clinical and administrative skills, which will enable them to perform both front and back-office procedures in medical offices. The administrative skills students will learn include medical ethical issues, medical codes, how to deal with a variety of patients, schedule appointments, complete insurance forms, patient billing, and electronic medical records. Students will learn how to perform the following clinical skills: setup an examination room and assist with general examinations, take vital signs, injections, capillary punctures, venipuncture, perform and evaluate routine laboratory tests. Students will learn how to use these skills and procedures via classroom and clinical hands-on training.
Duties of A CCMA

Rooming patients upon arrival to the clinic

Obtaining vital signs, weight

Answering phone calls and questions

Assisting providers with exams and procedures

Administering injections or vaccines

Documenting and updating information in the electronic health record (EHR)

Performing EKG, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures

Filling out insurance forms, DME forms

Works in collaboration with other healthcare members

Mandatory Information Session
Prospective students seeking admission into the Medical Assistant (CCMA) Program are required to attend a mandatory Information Session prior to enrollment. This session serves as an orientation to program expectations and admissions requirements and lasts approximately one (1) hour.
During the Information Session, prospective students will:

Complete a pre-admission assessment to evaluate basic academic readiness and program suitability

Receive detailed information regarding program objectives, instructional format, schedules, tuition, fees, attendance requirements, and academic expectations

Review externship placement procedures, clinical participation requirements, and certification eligibility criteria

Attendance is limited to registered participants only

Late arrivals may be required to reschedule

A valid government-issued photo identification is required

Business-casual attire is recommended

Completion of the Information Session is required prior to formal enrollment
Upon completion of the session, prospective students will receive guidance regarding the admissions process and next steps for enrollment into the Medical Assistant Program at Compassionate Medical Academy.
