About NCPT/CPT

The Phlebotomy Technician Program is designed to provide the students with how to properly collect blood and prepare blood samples from all age ranges for medical and clinical testing. Students will learn how to perform the following clinical skills: take vital signs, injections, capillary punctures, venipuncture, perform and evaluate routine laboratory tests. Students will learn how to use these skills and procedures via classroom and clinical hands-on training. clinical medical assistant

Duties of A NCPT/CPT

Draw blood from patients and blood donors
Evaluate patient's ability to withstand the procedure
Explain blood-drawing procedure to patients and answer questions
Verify patient/donor identity
Maintain medical equipment such as needles, test tubes and blood vials
Performs basic Point of Care testing, such as Urinalysis and blood glucose levels
Prepare blood, urine and other specimens for testing and more.
