About Surgery TS-C 

Surgical technicians, also called operating room technicians, work alongside and assist surgeons, nurses, and other members of the health care team throughout a surgical operation. The role of the surgical tech is incredibly important because they ensure a sterile and organized environment.

Surgical techs work in the operating room with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses. Their common tasks and duties can be split into three phases: before the surgical operation (preoperative), during the surgical operation (intraoperative), and after the surgical operation (postoperative).  

Duties of A Surgery TS-C 

  • Troubleshooting changes that require immediate action. 

  • Assisting the surgeons in their work. 

  • Having knowledge about how instruments are used in surgery.

  • Organization, use, and care of surgical instruments.

  • Assisting in surgical procedures as part of the surgical team. 

  • Preparation, handling, and use of surgical devices, equipment, and instruments.

  • Providing patient care in the perioperative environment.

  • Leadership, management, education and mentoring.

  • Maintaining and protecting an orderly sterile field. 

  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and more.
